Willamette University
The Matsiko Children's Choir, a touring group that raises funds for the International Children's Network, will perform tonight in Hudson Hall at Willamette University.
Matsiko gets it name from the Ugandan word for "hope." The directors are James Kaggwa and Samuel Kiberu Straxy, two men whose college education was funded by the ICN.
In addition to the children's singing, the performance includes cultural dances, staged dramas and powerful and complex drum routines.
The group recently released its second album, "If Love Was Love," which will be available for purchase at the concert.
The 7 p.m. performance is free. Willamette University is at 900 State St.
